Scope of Work

Demolition included removal of all steam piping, radiators, boilers, coils, exhaust supply duct work and more. Included the removal of 23,000 pounds of plaster wall along with the ceiling and other areas to obtain necessary access. The installation included new electrical service for the building. We installed 500 MCM wire from the city’s utilities transformer to the outside MDP and associated wire from MDP to subpanels. To connect to this power supply we had to reset the playground equipment for safety reasons.

Additionally we installed a concrete pad for 60T chiller and generator along with the chiller, heat exchanger, 2 water pumps, 2 condensing boilers and all associated piping, electrical and controls. We added copper piping for the heat exchanger and boilers to the blower coil equipment, which was located on two different floors. Additionally the piping was ran along the North side of the building. This included 20 blower coils.

MSI set up blower coils and 4 condensers on the roof and all associated piping, ductwork and electrical controls for the kitchen area. We put in a 4 piece Makeup Air Unit in the basement to allow fresh air to entire the structure. All associated ductwork was connected throughout the school to achieve the minimum outside air possible for each classroom.

The project also included installing 2 new exhaust fans building 8 new chases to hide ductwork/piping from basement to the second floor, new ceiling tile in various areas, new control systems throughout. We also installed new sprinkler piping at every location of new equipment, new fencing for the chiller and tested and balanced the water/air system.
